Ordering from Custom Blends:

In General:
At Custom Blends, we generally focus on providing our customers with 6 ounce bags of tobacco and prefiltered tubes or rolling papers and filters, and then providing rolling machines if needed.
Let's take these each in order and explain the process a bit:
The Tobacco:
We package our Blends in 6 oz bags. When you find a tobacco you like on our site, you'll notice several drop down boxes with the tobacco. That's where you can pick select your tubes, papers, or papers with filters!
The Tubes, Papers, Filters:
When we say tubes, we mean an actual paper cigarette tube with a filter already attached. They come in boxes with either 100, 200, or 250 tubes in each box. In the case of a box of 100 tubes, we call those 100 "count" boxes, and you'll see that word count abbreviated to CT throughout our site.
Some other abbreviations we use with tubes are:
- FF = Full Flavored
- LT = Light (typically because of more thorough filtration)
- Menth = Menthol
- Char = Charcoal impregnated filter (can make blends taste lighter and remove some other off-tastes)
- Mild = Generally, like Lights
- 100mm = One hundred millimeter tubes, same size as the longer commercial smokes
- Dbl Filter = A double filter
If you end up selecting a tube that comes in a 100 count box, we'll make sure you get two boxes to make your carton's worth. If you like a carton of tubes that has 250 ct, you simply wind up with extra tubes at the end of rolling your 6 oz bag of tobacco.
We also stock tubes that have flavors. These are high quality flavorings, and you can use them with just about any type of tobacco to create your own unique style! These however, must be purchased, and are not given away with our 6 oz bags of tobacco.
The Rolling Machines:

In general we stock 4 styles. Hand Rollers, Rolling Boxes, Slide Injectors, and Table Top Make Your Own Machines. We'll take them in order:
Hand Rollers are the small hand held plastic or metal machines used to roll a cigarette. These are quite inexpensive, but can be somewhat a bit harder for the novice. Used with rolling papers with or without attaching a filter.
Rolling Boxes are the square metal boxes that pop the rolled cigarette out of a top slot. You've probably seen these on Westerns. They are a bit more expensive than the hand rollers, but they make a nice kit, because they generally have room enough to store a decent amount of tobacco and filters, and can fit easily in your pocket, purse, car console, or backpack. Used with rolling papers with or without attaching a filter.
Slide Injectors generally are plastic, two-piece machines that slide the tobacco along a metal rail into an empty tube. The are a good introductory make your own (meaning used with our tubes) machine. These often do not last as long as our table top machines.
Table Top Machines:
These machines allow you to quickly make a pack of cigarettes using our tubes and tobacco. Currently, the least expensive one we carry is the Premier Excel (less than $30.00, typically), so the initial cost for this level of convenience is low.
Our Premier Supermatic machines also let you roll 100 mm cigarettes.

When Ordering:
See a product you like? Just change the "Order Quantity" drop down box to the amount of the item you'd like, and then click the "Buy" button to add it to your cart.
Need to know what the shipping is going to be? Just click "View Cart" at any time, we've provided a shipping calculator at the bottom of the cart.
You can either continue shopping or check out. If you choose to check out, you'll see a form to fill out that includes a shipping or a billing address. Note that on that same page in the upper right hand corner, you'll see a place for registered users to log in... that makes your checkout much easier!

After you've entered the appropriate information, you'll be taken to a confirmation page. You still haven't been charged yet - your credit card will be charged when your order is rung out and ready to ship.
With few exceptions, we do not process the charge on your credit card until your order is ready to ship. Exceptions are typically for special orders, or orders for large quantities of goods.
